Club meetings this week - Tues the 24th and Thurs the 26th

Our theme for the Tuesday evening meeting

is the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday.  Come with a Joke or card trick. We aim for fun. Bring a friend or two and join in.

Meeting is from 6-7 pm at the Key Allegro Yacht Club. Drinks provided, appetizers and/or dinner can be ordered.

Our program at the Thursday Noon Meeting

is the Fennesey Ranch. The Fennessey Ranch is part of a legendary 750,000 acre Texas land empire that has remained in the same family for 171 years.  The ranch consists of 4,000 acres of abundant wetlands, meadows, natural lakes, riparian woods and brush land and bordered on three sides by the Mission River. The Fennessey is located in the heart of the Central Flyway along a region of the Texas coastline known as the “Coastal Bend.”  The Fennessey has opened its gates for a wide array of unique recreational opportunities.

Meeting is from Noon-1 at the Rockport Country Club.

Polio News - Milestone switch made from tri- to bivalent OPV

All 155 countries and territories that currently use oral polio vaccine (OPV) were expected to switch from trivalent to bivalent OPV in their routine immunization programs between 17 April and 1 May. The switch will protect children from the risk, though extremely rare, of contracting vaccine derived poliovirus, and is a critical step toward ending the disease. OPV will be removed once all wild polioviruses are eradicated. The switch has been made possible by the dedication of health workers, governments, partners and donors, and their continued support will be essential to achieving a polio-free world.
